THE
WEEKEND |
 |
Friday
evening, the weekend will begin as The Lester’s conduct a Wine
Tasting of their critically acclaimed estate-grown, single-vineyard
appellation Wyncroft Wines. Their Avonlea Riesling, Madron Lake
Riesling, Madron Lake Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and
Shou are reminiscent of some of the best European vintages in the
Burgundian and Pommard traditions.
|
 |
Later that
evening the wines of Wyncroft will be paired with Wickwood’s Evening
Hor’s d’oeuvres and a Dinner honoring the Lester’s, created by Julee.
We will all gently meander through the evening with the incredible
Michael Holmes and Mark Kahney crooning a tune or two.
|
 |
Saturday
Morning the Lester’s will lead us in vintage French Champagne
Tasting matched to a very special Wickwood Brunch. A great start to
a day wandering through the galleries and shops of Saugatuck and
Douglas. Throughout the weekend there will be several surprise
spontaneous Food Tastings conducted by Julee.
|
 |
Saturday
Evening we will all venture to the Journeyman Café where Chef Mathew
Millar will prepare a special Winemakers Dinner with flights of
wines from his own distinctive wine list featuring those of
Bordeaux, Napa, South Africa, Italy and Oregon paired with five
courses of his fabulous food. Chef Millar certainly “lives within
his harvest” by cooking with only carefully selected locally grown
organic produce and local naturally raised meats combining them with
his own creativity, superbly. This will surely be a stunning dinner.
|
 |
Sunday morning
Wickwood’s Traditional Champagne Brunch will be served followed by
gifts and goodbyes.
